Traffic to be diverted from I-45 Monday, Tuesday nights

Posted

Workers with the ongoing construction at the intersection of Interstate 45 and State Highway 21 will close the interstate the nights of Aug. 4 and 5 to install girders on the projects bridge, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.

All traffic along the route will be diverted to the frontage road at 7 p.m. each night, lasting until 6 a.m. the following morning. Contractors will close the northbound lanes Monday night and Southbound lanes on Tuesday night.

The closures are contingent on weather conditions.

The $4 million project will increase the bridge over I-45 to five lanes. The project is expected to reach completion in late autumn.
