1936 – 2024 Doris Marie (Goodrum) Hines was born in Madisonville, Texas on Dec. 13, 1936 to Selven and Josie (Nichols) Goodrum. She passed away on Jan. 15, 2024 in Normangee, Texas. She was a homemaker for many years, then later worked and retired from Texas A&M printing department. Doris, also known as “Granny,” was very sweet and loving. She spoiled her grandkids and great-grandkids endlessly and always kept Schwans ice cream in the cooler for them. Granny made every member of the family a baby blanket or afghan, and she was very talented at crocheting.

Doris was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Roger C. Hines; daughter, Dorothy (Hines) Wells; grandson, Brandon Sikorski; brothers, Milton, S.J., Billy, Luke, and Cooter Goodrum; sister, Earlene Driskell; and son-in-law, Jimmy Phillips.

She is survived by her daughters, Pamela Phillips of Normangee, Texas, and Donna Sikorski of Normangee, Texas; grandchildren, Tracy (Andrews) Smith and husband, Scott, Clay Andrews and wife, Amanda, Nathan Sikorski and girlfriend, Kayla, Kendra (Wells) Gilbert and husband, Jess, and Nick McAliley and wife, Amanda; nineteen great-grandchildren; two great- great- grandsons; nieces, Sue Swinner of Madisonville, Texas, Debra Holland and husband, Doug of Madisonville, Texas; as well as a host of other nieces, nephews and extended family.

Pallbearers were Clay Andrews, Tye Coleman, Nathan Sikorski, Jesse McClure, Cannon Coleman, Nick McAliley, Tim Sikorski, R.J. Evans, Jess Gilbert, Colt Cook.

Honorary Pallbearers were Asher Parrack & Eli Parrack.

A funeral service for Doris was held 11 a.m.

Friday, Jan. 19, 2024, at Union Baptist Church in Normangee, Texas.

Kerry Stroud officiated the service. Interment followed in Ten Mile Cemetery.

Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas was entrusted with arrangements.
