Evelyn Jane (Ferguson) Stephens, 84 years, a resident of Houston, Texas, passed away Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, at her home. Evelyn’s life was celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20, 2023, at Day Funeral Home in Madisonville with Pastor Duane Hamilton officiating.

The burial followed at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Bedias. Visitation was scheduled from 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023, also at Day Funeral Home.

Evelyn was born on July 26, 1939, in Milton-Freewater, OR to William Guy Ferguson and Mary Beth (Neadeau) Ferguson and was married to Elvin Ray Stephens until his passing in 1975.

Evelyn was an active traveler who enjoyed the scenic outdoors and coastal beaches and was looking forward to her imminent trip to Florida when she passed away. She enjoyed wildlife and nature and loved fresh flowers and taking care of plants.

Above all else, she valued her time with family and was happiest holding a baby and taking care of her loved ones. Her sense of adventure and family values will persevere through her descendants.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughters, Mary Rose Stephens and Betty Stephens Mosley; grandchildren, Cheryl Stephens, Joe Embry, and Curtis Stephens; and her six older siblings, Lawerence, Ray, Ralph, Vera, Harold and James.

Evelyn is survived by her children, George Stephens, James Stephens, Penny Doherty (John), Pat Stephens (Donna), Randy Stephens (Teresa), Mickey Stephens, Toby Stephens and Rebecca Faiello (Arthur); her grandchildren Jason, Tammy, Andrew, Raye, Brian, Tina, Kimberly, Sara, Janie, Christopher, Matthew, Rachel, Joshua, Jessica, Karl, Adam, Bridgette, Ryan and Ross; numerous great-grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; and an abundance of family and friends.

Serving as Pallbearers were George Stephens, Karl Stephens, Andrew Mosley, Kyle Stephens, Ryan Faiello and Arthur Faiello.

Honorary Pallbearers were James Stephens, Patrick Stephens and Toby Stephens.
