Gerald Thomas “Jerry” Culver passed away on July 28, 2023 at the age of eightynine at the home of his daughter & son-in-law, Kathy & Kendrick Wick, near Sealy, Texas. He was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-one years, Christene and brother, Robert. He is survived by his daughter, Kathy and son-in-law, Kendrick; his sister, Nancy Anton and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jerry served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956 and in the Army Active Reserves twenty- three years, retiring as a Sergeant Major (E9) in 1978.

He completed his degree at Sam Houston State University in three years and immediately joined the Internal Revenue Service. Jerry was first employed as a civil auditor and later as a criminal investigator for his last twenty years.

He received many accolades, retiring in 1986.

The next step in Jerry’s law enforcement career was the Harris County District Attorney’s office. He served eleven years there before retiring one final time. Jerry held the respect and love of everyone who worked with him.

In his free time, Jerry was a serious reader, enjoyed fishing, bird hunting, cooking seafood and baking.

A service honoring Jerry’s life was held 11 A.M., Saturday, August 5, 2023 at Sand Prairie Baptist Church, Normangee, Texas. Bro.

Glenn Connor officiated the service. Interment followed in George Cemetery where Jerry was laid next to his wife.

Pallbearers: Kendrick Wick, David Anton, Steve Anton, Bart Carter, Landon Krieger, Benny Krieger Arrangements were under the direction of Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
