1931-2024

Services for Helen Davis will be on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Lakeview Baptist Church 200 North Shore Street, Madisonville, Texas. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service starting at 9:00 a.m.

Helen Doris Bonner Davis was born on April 13, 1931, to Theodore Wells Bonner, Sr., and Annie Harris in Bellville, Texas. Helen attended the Somerville Independent School District and graduated as class valedictorian from Emmitt J. Scott High School in 1948. After high school, Helen attended Prairie View A&M University where she earned a Bachelor of Science majoring in elementary education with a minor in library sciences then earned a Master of Education majoring in special education with a minor in art education.

Helen married Louis Connie Davis they had one child Annette Elaine. Helen loved the Lord at an early age attending Smith Chapel AME Church in Somerville, Texas, and in her adult years, she attended Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church (Madisonville) and Friendship Baptist Church (The Colony).

She was also an active member of the Lyons Community Cemetery Upkeep Committee, Christian Homeworkers, and the Heroines of Jericho Issac Newton Court 111.

Helen leaves to cherish her memory, one daughter Annette Davis Woodfork; two granddaughters, Felicia Harrison, and Anna Woodfork; two great-grandsons, Trenton Harrison, and Grayson Harrison; and a host of relatives and close friends.
