Imogene (Emert) Gafford; 75 years, 11 months, 20 days; from Bedias, TX; passed away on Friday; January 29, 2021 in Houston, TX. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday; February 4, 2021 from 5-7PM at Day Funeral Home Chapel in Madisonville, TX where family and friends can celebrate Imogene’s life. A private family burial will be held at Rock Prairie Cemetery in Madisonville, TX at a later date.

Imogene was born on February 9, 1945 in Madison County, TX to John Daniel and Sarah Bessie (Brown) Emert, she attended school in Madisonville, TX; and she worked for several years at the local schools and nursing homes in food nutrition, took care elderly in their homes, and enjoyed providing care for children both in home and at church.

Imogene was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Alvin Warren Emert and John Julian Emert; and her granddaughter, Alyx Gafford. She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Willie Gafford; her children, Johnny Ray Gafford and Jana Renee Wonders (Dustin Tillman); her brothers, James Carlton Emert (Lettie Ann) and Marvin Earl Emert; her sister, Ida Elaine Emert; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
