Substitute Teacher Training

The Madisonville CISD Community Education Program will offer a substitute teacher training class beginning Monday, June 14 and lasting through Thursday, June 17, at Madisonville Elementary School. The class will meet from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. in the library. The registration fee is $35. Interested persons should contact Prince Fite at Madisonville Elementary School at 936-348-2261 or Connie Kelly at the MCISD Administration Building at 936-348-2797 (ext. 5010)
Prosperity Bank Junior Board wraps up year

Prosperity Bank’s Junior Board of Directors for the 2020-2021 school year had a lot of fun and a successful learning experience. The bank celebrated its 28th year of their Junior Board program, consisting of 13 high school seniors from Madisonville and North Zulch High Schools.

Funeral services for Fred Hodges, 63, of Madisonville, were held 11 a.m., Friday, May 21, 2021 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Rev. William Potts officiated the service and interment followed in Madisonville Cemetery.

Lovell to host memorial team roping event

Madisonville native and reigning Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) National Finals Rodeo (NFR) World Champion Roper Colby Lovell will host the 1st Annual Cody NesSmith Memorial Team Roping at the Leon County Expo Center May 29-31. Proceeds from the event will help launch the Cody NesSmith Foundation to help families whose children are battling cancer.
Dogs fall in Regional Semis

The North Zulch baseball team fell 10-0 to the Kennard Tigers in the 1A Regional Semifinals on a wet night in Madisonville Friday to conclude their season. Despite the loss, it was a historic season for the Bulldogs.
