Body

Patricia Ann Hodges, age 63, passed away May 9, 2022 in Bryan, Texas. She was born March 9, 1959 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire to Victor & Alice (Frost) Nash. Patricia was raised in the Portsmouth area where she also met her future husband, Fred, who was in the Navy. Following their marital union, the pair moved south, where they raised their family and spent the remainder of their lives.

Patricia was a home- maker most of her life. She was also the manager of a convenience store in Madisonville for many years. She absolutely loved working around people. She made friends there that turned into family. Lots of people would stop by to see her smiling face and bend her ear. She was somewhat of a counselor for many.

She fiercely loved her family and friends. She loved a good sale -- which is probably how she ended up with so much stuff. A few more of her favorite things include: Christmas-time, listening to music, oversized sunglasses, huge purses that knocked into everything, the beach, dragonflies, sunflowers, BlueBell Vanilla Ice-cream, and strawberry shortcake. And her all-time favorite show was General Hospital. She also was tickled that she learned to use a smartphone. She quickly became addicted to social media.

Patricia was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Fred Austin Hodges Jr. of 45 years; sister, Betty Therrien; brother, Eddie Nash; niece, Tracy Dicicco and nephew, Kevin Therrien. Surviving family members include children, Melissa Hodges (fiance, Justin Baack) and Steven Hodges (Christina); grandchildren, Ryan, Rebecca, Codey and Justin; brother, Victor “Junior” Nash; sisters, Peggy Phillips and Laura Smith and nephews, Chris Therrien, Josh Slate (Talley), Rickey Dicicco and Nicholas Dicicco.

Patricia’s battle with COPD and Emphysema was a long, extensive battle and it changed her in many ways. But, by God’s grace, she is whole again. All the worry, pain and tears are now over. She can BREATHE! What an amazing reunion Heaven had! We will always love and miss her! And we will always be searching for dragonflies.

Funeral services for Patricia were held 3 p.m., Saturday, May 14, 2022 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. William Plotts officiated the service.

Arrangements were entrusted to Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas.
