Dorothy Parker Graham went home to her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 18, 2022. She will be laid to rest beside her husband, William “Forrest Graham” of 57 years. Dorothy was born on December 11, 1930 in Normangee, Texas to Earl C. And Myrtie Ethridge Parker. The family always remembered Dorothy’s birthday because it was the day her daddy would take the family out to chop down the Christmas tree.

Mr. Cleon Johnson was born November 6, 1978 to Callie Johnson and Cleon Jordan.

Funeral services for Peggy (Morgan) Osborne, age 92, of Madisonville were held 3 P.M., Sunday, October 23, 2022 at Madisonville Funeral Home, Madisonville, Texas. Bro.

A journey that started on Friday, August 5, against Stafford at the Madisonville Tennis Complex has finally reached its epic conclusion. The Madisonville Mustang tennis team (12-2) is now the area champion; as of Friday, October 14, they faced Cameron at 8 a.m.

And it’s a wrap! The 21st Texas Mushroom Festival held last Saturday in historic downtown Madisonville is now in the books. Besides a great time for homefolks to visit with one another, visitors came from all around to attend the festival, making a positive impact on local retail businesses, restaurants, and hotels. Just as important as entertainment is the scholarships the proceeds from the festival provide.

At the last city council meeting on Tuesday, October 11, city council members rejected the proposal for the Villages of Greystone Public Improvement District. During this meeting section, most city council members used the word “Growth” when discussing why they rejected this motion for this new subdivision.
